America 1865-Present

This guide is an attempt to navigate students and researchers through the myriad sources that are available to study the period from the end of the Civil War until the present.

Overview

The end of the Civil War marked the start of an America driven by innovations, social reform and an economy dedicated to becoming a world power. The social, economic and political climate of the country has undergone tremendous change since the period of reconstruction, but the belief in maintaining the American ideals has remained constant to this day.
