How to add iterms to combine with the pre-existing COVID-19 search on the left

How to add your own terms to the COVID-19 Search in PubMed Central:

1.) Click on the search on the COVID-19 search on upper left side of this guide (or on the following button).

undefined

2.) You will get a fairly comprehensive set of updated full-text COVID-19 literature on your screen .

3.) Next, on the top of the screen click where it says “Advanced”:

undefined

4.) PubMed will take you to a screen where you can enter in new search terms. Add the search term(s) you want to include and then click on the red search button. Here I put in leadership:

undefined

5.) You will get search results only for the terms you entered (leadership). We now need to add this search to the other COVID-19 search:

undefined

To add these results to our COVID-19 results, click again on the link that says “Advanced “at the top of the screen:

undefined

6.) You will be taken to a screen where you can see your search history:

undefined

7.) We want to add your leadership search to the pre-existing COVID-19 search.

To do this, we need to click on the button that says “Add” next to your leadership search. We also want to click on the “Add” link next to the COVID-19 search.

undefined

Doing so will cause the leadership search terms to appear in the first box and the COVID-19 terms to appear in the second box:

undefined

We are now set up to search for leadership and COVID-19.

Now click on the red search button.

8.) You will see very directed results that match the criteria of both searches at the same time:

COVID-19 Search Details

Here is a visual representation of the general search in the left column it were in search boxes.

Use this search as a starting point, and then add other search terms to it (for example mental heath).

Some examples of this are listed in boxes in the left and right columns for specific populations.

Here is another visual example of the above search so you can better see what's going on:
