This Guide covers sites on East Asian studies in general, major Asian libraries around the globe, Asian research portals in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan and open access journals. Resources include country information, romanization, citation styles, history and cultural materials, and government related sites. Courses are offered by the Department of Mordern Languages and Literature for Chinese and Japanese studies as well as the interdisciplinary concentration in Asian and Asian American Studies which introduces students to a wide specturm of disciplines including anthropology, art history, history, linguistics, literature, political scidence, and sociology. Recognizing the importance of Asia in the international context and the impact of Asian American communities on U.S. society, AAS Studies prepares students to participate in an increasingly diverse and globalize society.
