Standard & Poors (S&P) Capital IQ is available in the Subotnick Center. It is also available on 12 workstations in the Newman Library. Student access to S&P Capital IQ is not available elsewhere on campus. Remote access is not available.
Recently, S&P updated their NetAdvantage product, and this is now known as S&P Capital IQ-Net Advantage. It is available through the Newman Library's databases and may be used by students and faculty on campus and remotely. The search interface is very similar to S&P Capital IQ, which offers more information on private companies and screening options.
How can I use S&P Capital IQ or S&P Capital IQ-Net Advantage for this course?
S&P Capital IQ provides current and past financials on publicly-traded companies and industries; ratios; access to filings made with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); information on key developments in a company from news sources, conference calls and earnings transcripts and earning estimates; business relationships and recent transactions; company and institutional ownership information, and profiles of company officials. Some analysts reports are available on S&P Capital IQ-Net Advantage.
Financials may be downloaded into Excel. Comparisons of companies may be done.
