The Library, Floor-by-Floor

The Newman Library consists of floors 2 through 5 in the 151 E.25th Street building.

6th floor
BCTC Computer Lab
  • The computer lab and IT Help Desk are not accessible from within the library.
  • To access the computer lab, use your Baruch ID to swipe through the security turnstiles in the lobby of the building, and then use the elevators to the left to go to the 6th floor. You will need your Baruch ID to swipe through the BCTC Computer Lab turnstiles to enter.

5th floor
  • Group study rooms
  • General study areas

4th floor
  • This floor is fully open after the recent completion of a renovation project.
  • Group study rooms, including the dedicated Graduate Study Room (442) and Graduate Study Carrels Room (444) 
  • Bathrooms - east side (3rd Ave side)
  • Books with call numbers between F and N (in high density shelving). Light switches for shelving areas are located on the shelves before entering. Look for the white light switches.
3rd floor
  • Laptop Loan Desk (relocated to 2nd floor Circulation Desk during the summer)

  • Student Practice Room, Rm. 309

2nd floor

1st floor
Lobby

After entering the building, use the stairs on the right to enter the library on the 2nd floor.  (If needed, use the elevator on the left and before the security turnstiles.) Bring your Baruch ID to swipe through the security turnstiles at the library’s entrance.

Library Classrooms (Room 130 and 135) are located in the same hallway as the ID Center.

For the first floor cafeteria, walk straight ahead and swipe through the lobby security turnstiles, then turn left.
