Offers a complete collection of tax legislative documents from 1954 to the present by expanding resources under Federal Tax Legislation.

Enter "Legislative History" in the search and then select the topic or subtopic of interest in the portfolios that have been retrieved. Rather than a compiled history, the portfolio will provide references to legislative actions that resulted in changes to the tax code. The references to the public laws can then be researched.

Useful Sites

The United States Serial Set contains the basic legislative history (bills and reports) of United States laws. As of now, 1833-1917 materials have been digitized by the Library of Congress and made available online. The LexisNexis version of the Serial Set is available free at all National Archives Research Centers. Coverage dates from 1789.
