You can calculate ratios using financial data from a company's 10-K report or you can use ratios from many of the resources listed in this guide.
To make sense of the ratios for any company you must compare the ratios to the ratios of similar companies or to the company's own historical ratios or their forecasts.
You can find financial statements at company websites and at the Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database.
